Celebrating Diversity within DACA Americans

50-50 DACA American Stories is an inspiring collection of real-life stories that provide us with a unique perspective on the lives of a small number of the broader undocumented American population. It presents a window into experiencing the resilience, hard work, and determination this community has to make a better life for themselves and their families. The idea for this book compilation all started at an alumni Summer Venture in Management Program (SVMP) reunion at Harvard Business School.

50-50 DACA American Stories

Our Vision

Our vision for this platform is to harness the power of shared experiences to create a brighter America. At the same time, this platform is not just a storytelling platform, but a valuable opportunity that seeks to inspire and encourage members of the DACA community to fight against discrimination and take the necessary steps to advocate and makes changes for themselves and their communities.

We want to progressively transform their status from temporary protection to permanent protection as U.S. citizens, and these stories empower their efforts to do so.

Juan Andres

First-Generation College Graduate

"We come from different places, journeys, and backgrounds, but when I look around me, I can recognize how the future is growing brighter, the present is getting better, and the past is becoming more valuable. My experiences as a first-generation Latino has made me appreciate the importance of creating a diverse network of people who can provide guidance, mentorship, and support navigating the unknown. It's within this mindset that I am confident our platform will create an authentic connection of multi-generational leaders within our communities, specifically those who are DACA recipients.

By emerging successful from higher education, I witnessed the power of using our voices and talents to demand a world made up of equal opportunity. Each of us has unique qualities that can be leveraged to achieve the same goals; together, we can make sure the American Dream remains a reality for all.

We've already seen the beauty of sharing stories that illuminate the whole picture of life. Through the 50-50 DACA American Stories initiative, we will be able to foster lifelong relationships with colleagues, classmates, acquaintances, neighbors, clients, friends, and families."

Our Executive Lead

"Wells Fargo's agreement to extend consumer credit to DACA recipients on the same terms as others is a positive acknowledgement of these young immigrants ongoing contributions to our national economy."

Value 01.

The Center for American Progress is calling attention to the more than 202,500 DACA recipients who served on the frontlines of the response to fight the COVID-19 outbreak across the United States. These are young, passionate, hardworking individuals who have faced numerous challenges to pursue and obtain post-secondary education, contribute to the U.S. economy, and serve their communities.

DACA recipients play a critical role in ensuring that the response to this crisis was effective, as they represent essential workers in health care, emergency services, and other areas. They continue to demonstrate a strong sense of civic responsibility even in the most unprecedent of times.
